Run

Two weeks without a Crackhouse run. My hands are shaking....

Okay, not really. But I am looking forward to Wednesday night. Although I shouldn't go.....

Two weeks ago I felt like I was getting sick, so I stayed home and did get sick. Blech.

Last week I was still getting over the flu-ey thing, and Liz wasn't feeling well, so "no Crackhouse for you!"

This week I want to go, but my company has been missing payroll (!) and I'm not sure that budgeting to blow ~$100 is a really good idea right now.

We'll see if my employer can pay me what I'm owed from last check, and what I'm owed on this one, on Wednesday. If not, my Crackhouse habit may have to be kicked, or at least put on hiatus. There be babies on the way.

Which leaves PokerStars and play money.

So on Saturday night Liz is asleep by 10:00 or so, and I go to play PokerStars. It's been as much frustrating as it has been fun of late, because saying I've been running bad (for months, it seems) doesn't really begin to cover it. In fits and starts, I had managed to bleed down below three million PSD, and didn't know whether my game would ever recover.

Well, it recovered. The recovery actually started in a session on Friday night when I caught a straight flush to the King and actually got paid a nice amount for it. (I got a screen capture on that; I'll update tonight with the picture).

On Saturday night, everything worked and I won more than one million PSD before noticing that the sun had risen and it was no longer Saturday night, but Sunday morning. It was a very satisfying session.

I certainly can't do that very often, but it was nice to have the tools working and not blowing up in my face on a consistent basis. And now that I'm again over four million PSD, we'll have to see if the 4M jinx is still active. But for one night at least I felt like I knew how to play No Limit Texas Hold'Em

Play money is of course very different from the real thing. (Not that the Crackhouse is much like the real thing, if I read F-Train et al. correctly....) But until my company get's its financial act together, I may have to keep dodging "slings and arrows of outrageous fortune" on PokerStars and be satisfied with that as my poker outlet.
